![]() ![]() I'd say Cakewalk is your best bet for learning. Just a bit of advice, if you go for Ableton Live Suite learn it and its stock plugins really, really well before you start buying third party plugins. V5 has really strong stock offerings too. Mainly because whilst I love Ableton's instrument and audio racks, Studio One has something very close and the workflow is phenomenal.and Studio One has a more traditional mixer design which Ableton is sadly lacking (although Ableton has sessions so it's swings and roundabouts!). I've got Ableton but I use mainly Studio One V5 and sometimes Reaper. Just be aware that how you get on with a DAW is a very personal thing. The top tier version is expensive but it's on offer at the moment (as is Ableton, 20% off and free upgrade to 11 next year). And whilst a lot of hit EDM producers use it, it got itself a reputation in the hip-hop & trap community due to it's pattern way of working. Upgrades are payable.įL Studio is another very, very capable DAW. That's the top version with all of the goodies and naturally it's the most expensive version. However, a lot of the other producers you see using it and a lot of the tutorials use Ableton Live Suite. And tons of tutorials, peers using it etc. You'll never be left wondering if your tracks aren't good enough because you're not using Ableton (it seldom is that reason, but it's a trap to thing it). The main pulls are that it comes with a lot of decent stock plugins and that it has a lot of mindshare in the EDM community.
